Tahiri has said that farmers are facing an extremely difficult situation because of price hikes, and there are farmers who are giving up productivity because of financial inadequacy.
We went to Minister Faton Peci on Monday. We've submitted our demands. Farmers are now facing a bad situation. In recent times, from this recent global crisis, we have tremendous expensive agricultural material, and we have great pressure from farmers to help us in this difficult situation. We like the Unions owe it. The solution to this problem is the hand of the State to help farmers. Investments are now huge, and I don't know if they can make money from selling their products. Some farmers have given up productivity, while some farmers are selling livestock to the impossible to carry. The price increase is the greatest impacter. The state has to help farmers now with the subsidy of amotic waste and phosphorus garbage. But such prices include guessworkers, or even productivity. We've asked Minister Peci that the aid in garbage is 40 percent, prices have increased by 100 percent, and oil is paid 50 percent. The last mechanism is protest, we will use dialogue mechanisms and writing in advance. If these don't work, we will continue with protests that are required to be radical and very long”, Tahiri said on the “show. TODAY”
He has demanded that the agricultural budget be twice as large, but is aware that such a thing is very difficult to happen.
“Buyks have had enormous needs, and no government has been able to help farmers properly. The budget for agriculture will be twice as large. However, we are knowing Kosovo's budget and what state the state is in. We don't have much hope for this. We've been looking forward to that budget that's not being misused, but we all know what happened. Now with Minister Peci and the new Government, we are seeing positive signals on this issue”, Tahiri said.
