In a communiqué published Monday, the European Council has said it has added 26 people and an entity to the list of sanctions because they have threatened Ukraine's territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence.
New sanctions have also been imposed, including asset freezes and travel bans, Russian oligarch Alisher Ussanov, who is co-owner of the Russian company USS Holdings. Then the second largest telephone operator in Russia, Megafon, and bankers Petr Aven and Mikhail Friedman.
