Russia's Defence Ministry announced earlier that nuclear forces and the North and Pacific fleet are in a state of increased combat readiness.
Biden discussed with US allies and partners during the day, while an unnamed White House official told Reuters that nuclear war should never be fought, as there are no winners and that Putin is escalating the situation with dangerous rhetoric.
