According to the latest data, 2802 persons have been arrested for participating in illegal demonstrations in 57 cities across the country on Sunday, reports OVD-Info. Only in Moscow were 1275 people arrested.
So far there has been no indication of protests Monday.
Under Russian law, major demonstrations require protesters to apply for a permit, which should be delivered no more than 15 but no less than 10 days before the event. Heavy fines, and in some cases even prison sentences can be set up for those who protest without permission.
Individuals are allowed to organise single protests, but it is not uncommon for people to stop for them.
On Thursday, Russia's Detective Committee warned that participation in any anti-war protest was illegal. He also said that criminal acts could be accessed to the participants' criminal records, which would mark “in the future of person”.
