The nuclear power plant has been occupied by Russian troops since the early days of the war, yet it is still run by Ukrainian technicians. The head of energy regulators in Kiev has urged workers not to sign any documents with Russian invaders, writes BBC.
Ukraine's state-owned nuclear agency Energoatom criticised the decree, calling it an invalid, absurd and inadequate”.
The move marks the first part of Putin's plans to restore “stability” in the illegally annexed province, where Russian forces have gradually lost ground against Ukrainian forces.
Meanwhile, the UN nuclear overseer, The IAEA, said it has been announced on plans to resume a reactor at the thermal power plant. All six reactors in the country have been offline for weeks.
