The queen had 37 horses in the race this year, so Charles is selling about a third.
On the list is Juster Fine, trained by Sir Michael Stoute, the first horse he won for the new King.
Also for sale is Love Affairs, the queen's last winner in Goodwood two days before her death.
Charles has 60 racing horses and 38 mares in Sandringham.
The 30 muses expected in the new year will have high awards as the latest educated by the Queen.
One source said the Gulf State Courts are especially inclined to buy and claim a connection with the Queen.
One royal source confirmed that Charles would reduce the number of horses, but added:
The line between family and horse racing industry will continue.
The desire is to continue with traditions and ties with Royal Acscot, but not on the same scale as Her Majesty, because she had a passion for horses. ”
The source added that some horses have already been sold.
The queen usually sold about seven horses a year, so this month's sale represents a huge increase.
