AKR chairman Behgjet Pacolli has said that energy problems in Kosovo are affecting every segment of our society.

Pacolli has written that there are projects failing in the energy sector.

Energy problems in Kosovo today are affecting every segment of our society, citizens and businesses. Investors' adequate policies affect the growth of energy production capacities, but also diversification. Today we have a troubled energy sector policy that has deepened for years. There are projects that are failing in the energy sector, others that have been made investments but cannot be put into place because of the procedure and administrative blockades in the ZRRE. One such case is in Sharr and Brezovica (usually I know the case are investors from abroad), which have over 10 pounds of energy production capacity, but are not being issued license from ZRRE”, Pacolli wrote.

Pacolli has added further that it is the last moment for the private sector to be viewed as a partner in boosting energy capacities in Kosovo

It is the last moment that the private sector is seen as a partner in the growth of energy capacities in Kosovo, rather than being treated as it is now being done by the ZRRE. Only with sufficient energy production and with adequate protection of investors and modern legal regulations is the only way to develop our economy, boost foreign investments and produce more energy and build new capabilities”, Pacolli added.

“Now how is it going, bureaucratic barriers and energy problems are driving the current and potential investors away from Kosovo. Kosovo also needs a lot of investments in the electricity productivity sector”.
