Mustafa of Sizmology: Kosovo an active earthquake area, but we are not as endangered as neighboring countries

Kosovo Seismological Institute Director Shemsi Mustafa has provided details concerning last night's earthquake that has hit Greece and northern Macedonia.

Mustafa told Klan Kosova.tv that Kosovo is an active area of earthquakes, but is not on the list of countries with a very active area, such as Greece, Italy, Albania.

He said that powerful earthquakes that take place in neighboring countries should not be ignored, since they can also affect us.

Kosovo is further away from this area, such as Greece, Italy, Albania, Austria, so it is less endangered. Italy and Albania, for example, have been hit by a high scale of the earthquake and which has had bigger consequences. Kosovo's territory is hit within a week by two or three earthquakes but that are of low intensity, or depending on seismological activity there may be even more earthquakes recorded.
