This joint meeting since the two prime ministers, Hashim Thaci and Edi Rama, was named historic, took place for the first time in the history of the two states.
The two prime ministers Thaci and Rama signed the “declaration for co-operation and strategic partnership between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Albania”.
This agreement included transportation and infrastructure and trade co-operation.
The two prime ministers also agreed to establish a joint fund for the Presevo Valley.
The joint meeting of the Government of Kosovo and the Government of Albania opened Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, who said that “this meeting marks a new chapter for Kosovo, Albania and the” region.
Otherwise, to date, a total of seven joint meetings of the two governments have been held, last November of last year in Elbasan, where 13 new agreements were signed, among them relief of the procedure for obtaining access to residence, regulation of the local border traffic regime, the opening of the joint border crossing point between Kukes and Dragas, ease in customs procedures and goods control, the joint cultural calendar between Kosovo and Albania, recognition of diplomas.
