The Kosovar Security Bureau has taken over to cover all financial and operational expenses related to the location of tape in motor vehicles will carry insurers.
Consequently, the state budget of the Republic of Kosovo will have no financial burden related to the location of the glues.
This decision came after the meeting at the Kosovo Central Bank offices in the midst of Governor Fehmi Mehmeti, Deputy Environment Minister Hysen Durmishi and other representatives of the KSF.
“Starting on March 1st, 2022, is scheduled to begin full implementation of the project so that within a year we can have a new situation on vehicles regularly registered in the Republic of Kosovo. From this date forward, the security members of the BKS will have authorisation for placing glues (stiers) through motor vehicles, with their security at Auto-registering Centres”, the announcement said.
For the full implementation of this project, regarding the deployment of glues (stitchers) into motor vehicles to identify the same if they circulate into legally registered road communications, a 1 year-long memorandum of understanding will be signed for monitoring implementation of the same.
Deputy Prime Minister Durmish pledged that, under this memorandum of understanding, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo will issue all necessary sublegal acts to fully implement the project in question.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Kosovo Police, within the legal competencies they have under the law, will verify the regularity of relevant motor vehicle documentation in road flow.
The integration of this project to place glues (stitchers) through motor vehicles is aimed at reducing the number of ungurging motor vehicles/reregistered roads as one of the necessary preconditions for membership in the Council of Bureaus organisation in Brussels or finding alternative solutions for free circulation.
