The British were bypassed for the chief prosecutor, the Prosecutor's Council for Periscope: We're analyzing the Embassy's response.

The Great Britain Embassy has expressed surprise after the decision taken by the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, which during yesterday has opened the competition for the appointment of the chief state prosecutor, while the KKP for Periscope has said it will respond to the British response. “despite the fact that an opportunity to witness partnership and transparency was lost, we expect the KKP to develop good, transparent and merity process”, it is said further in response to the embassy.

Kosovo Prosecutorial Council in an Answer For Periscope has said they are analyzing the British Embassy's response and will come up with an announcement.

“We're analyzing it and we're going to come up with a general answer to that.”, KKP spokesman Astrit Kolaj said Periscope.

Meanwhile, the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK) on Wednesday at the first meeting held for 2022 made the decision to announce the competition for the appointment of the chief state prosecutor.

The contest for this position was decided to be open 15 days after its proclamation, beginning January 17th.

At yesterday's meeting, The KKP also founded the appreciative panel for the purpose of candidates applying for the position of the chief state prosecutor.

The current chief prosecutor is Aleksandar Lumezi, whose mandate ends on April 21st./Periscopi/
