In the British Embassy's response, they have reportedly offered support for the chief prosecutor's recruiting, but this has not been taken into account and the decision has been announced.
The British “Embassy has been supporting the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK) for years. Recently, we have also provided support for recruiting the chief state prosecutor's position. While we were expecting answers from the KKP, yesterday's decision to declare the position without our support, was surprising”, said in response.
With this move, according to the British Embassy, the KKP has lost an opportunity to witness partnership and transparency.
The “despite the fact that an opportunity to witness partnership and transparency was lost, we expect the KKP to develop good, transparent and merited process”, it says in this response.
Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK) on Wednesday at the first meeting held for 2022 made a decision to announce the competition for the appointment of the chief state prosecutor.

At yesterday's meeting, The KKP also founded the appreciative panel for the purpose of candidates applying for the position of the chief state prosecutor.
