Abraham: That two to three months of communication with central level is at the lowest possible level

Sahan Ibrahimi, executive director of the Kosovo municipalities' Association, has said co-operation with the central level is missing, so the lack of such co-operation, according to him, leads to actual non-insistance of measures. “That two to three months of communication with the central level is at the lowest possible level since Kosovo [...]
Since two to three months of communication with the central level is at the lowest possible level, since post-war Kosovo, we haven't had these cases where the central level makes decisions without consultation with the local level of competencies or the dedication the municipality has so far given especially with the COVID-19 pandemic... Measures are taken at the central level, but must be implemented at the local level and without a co-operation with the local level, we can say there is lameness in implementing the” measures, Ibrahim said of Info Magazine.
Meanwhile, he added that they are awaiting an invitation from the government to hold a meeting.
“generally the situation with COVID-19 is going to a drastic increase in the number of infected, we are awaiting a central level invitation in terms of a joint meeting because a tradition has been built in the past”, he continued.
According to Ibrahim when there was co-operation between these two levels, the number of cases with COVID had begun to decline.
“Co-operation with the local level to be more genuine, that without concrete co-operation, citizens suffer”.
Ibrahimi said that unless they have yet to meet with the new minister of health, the government has decided to exclude this association from the anti committee. - CO VID.
With the new minister of health except that we haven't had contact, the central level has decided arbitraryly to exclude the association of municipalities from the anti committee. CO VID, which is a consultative mechanism is not a decisionmaker. We in this committee have usually reflected the concerns of local level recommendations, but with our central level decision association twice being excluded from this” committee, Ibrahim said.
He said that tomorrow they will hold a meeting with the mayors, where one of the issues will be co-operation with the central level.
This meeting is of the mayors, of the recommendations, which then the association reflects on the central level”.
Meanwhile, he added that they still have no position on whether the actual measures should be changed.
