Health Minister Thanos Plevris and his deputy, Mina Gaga, writes the Greek newspaper Kathimerini, broadcast Periscopi.
The new decision removes homosexual acts from the list of criteria that prohibit blood donation.
It will go into effect with publication in Government Gazette.
The existing blood donation document prohibited blood donation for any male who had had had sexual relations with another man at any time since 1977.
Many countries established blood donation controls after the 1980s AIDS epidemic, when infected blood, donated by drug users and prisoners, contaminated supplies.
Greece was one of the few countries with the ban.
