At this time when many countries face a lack of vaccines, including Kosovo, it happens that 133 thousand doses of Astra-Zeneca vaccines are thrown into the trash, as they were not given to citizens and expired.
Fortunately Kosovo did not buy these vaccines. 133 thousand vaccines were donations from Norway's state showing Kosovo government's disregard for foreign donations.
But how much would Kosovo cost these vaccines if they were bought?
Of all the vaccines approved in Europe, AstraZenza is the cheapest.
Its price ranges from an average of 2 euros to 3 euros.
If Kosovo had bought 134,000 vaccines, which the deadline was due to cost the Kosovo budget, about 268,000 euros and up to half a million.
134 thousand vaccines -- an average of 2 euros dose -- amount to 268 thousand euros.
The health ministry's irresponsability led to these vaccines being not administered to citizens, saying citizens should not choose vaccines.
