The LDK charges against the government: Passive and weak, with Serbia a comprehensive solution needs

The Democratic League of Kosovo has accusations against the Kosovo government for no work. The deputy chairman of this political subject, Albanian Medici, told Kosova Preis that Kurti's cabinet is unclear in actions. She says a comprehensive solution that will lead to mutual recognition is required with Serbia, while there is criticism of the process [...]
She says that a comprehensive solution that will lead to mutual recognition is required with Serbia, while there is criticism of the dismissal process and delays in appointing new ambassadors, as well as managing the situation with pandemic.
Stopping to meet the expert level in Brussels under the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Medici has urged the Government of Kosovo to find solutions for finding the bodies of missing persons in Kosovo during the recent war.
The “is up to the Government of Kosovo to negotiate with the other side and ensure that you also referred to the specific issue to reach a solution to identify persons who are still missing, or their remains are still extinct, and their families should know where they are. [...] 3:31 For us it is important to reach a comprehensive solution with Serbia that will lead to mutual recognition of the two countries on the current borders and address other issues of importance such as this of missing persons”, she says.
Medicine says that in these months of governance, the executive has only characterised the inactivity of management and lack of transparency. It also criticises the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for delays in appointing ambassadors to Kosovo's friendly countries.
That which characterizes this six-month-old is lack of transparency, information on various issues. Then it is not known what the priorities of this government are, during the election campaign, that the pandemic is the number one priority priority, then the priority dialogue emerged. That's why I see more passive than government activism. [...] 5:48 We don't understand why embassies are left without representation. Initially, an assessment had to be given to ambassadors who were fired from office to know about their performance. At the same time to ensure that the government will appoint the other ambassadors so that it will not remain without our country”, Medici points out.
According to LDK deputy chairman, the Kurti Government is failing to manage COVID-19, as well. She accuses Health Minister Arben Vitita that in addition to poor work managing with the pandemic, she mustered up boldness at a delicate moment to run for mayor of the Pristina municipality.
When we look at the numbers and when we look at cases of death unfortunately that have occurred as a result of poor government management, we can't say he did a good job. What I said earlier that the government does not have the ability to manage certain jobs at the same time, including this pandemic. We have a minister who, in addition to poor labour and mismanagement of pandemic now plans to run for mayor, in a situation that is not the best time to do such a thing”, she adds.
Rumours about delaying local elections, Medici considers them harmful, as it says it is extremely important that the same ones be held.
The “is very important for elections to be held, we have a regular election cycle at the local level at least, since at the national level we have elections every three years on average. It's important to hold on because this is one of the main mechanisms citizens keep in account their representatives, much more at the local level. [...] We have had a chance at the beginning of the year where elections have also been held in a somewhat similar situation and with adequate measures to ensure a good process and easily managed”, says Medici.
Regarding the LDK's position before local elections, Deputy Chairman Mekqi says their party's election growth is based on polls.
“Based on polls, we think we will have an increase from the outcome we had from the national elections. I think the result in local elections is not translated equally or reflected by the outcome of the national elections. So we can't expect similar results, but at the overall level we'll have an increase based on the frequent research we're going to do. This is a result of the changes that have occurred at the central level, but also at the local level, after we have proposed several candidates and new figures that now have a great popularity among citizens and we expect them to win”, it states.
