Local media show that a ship was stuck about 5 miles [54 km] to the point of the Egyptian canal.
The Suez Canal Authority was required to temporarily suspend navigation while working to free the ship, reports Britain's Metro, translated Periscopi.
Four ships were detained inside the canal that were going to Suez from Portie Said, according to Al-Ain.
Sky News Arabia has reported that the ship had successfully moved and the channel had been reopened.
