After several other cases were discussed, the judge was brought to a halt in the matter of participating witnesses elected by the prosecution in the judicial process.
Gucatt and Haradinaj lawyers have demanded that the Prosecutor publish the names of witnesses he has chosen to listen to, while the prosecution through a parachute has said the extraction of those names could endanger them. In this case, the judge asked the prosecutor if he had announced the witnesses that no safeguards would apply to them.
When you speak of the possibility of calling these witnesses, I believe you have informed them of why they will be called as witnesses without the application of protective measures”, the judge said.
“Witnesses know the SPS can seek protection measures”, the prosecutor said, in response.
On the other hand, the judge told the prosecutor not to sit down, asking him some questions about the witnesses.
“You have asked these people to prepare statements for the trial process”, the judge said.
Defending the prosecutor's approach to witnesses, the prosecutor of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office said: “This is the way. We need to get statements, we need to get them out. ”
