Two soldiers are attacked by crocodiles in Australia, one in serious condition

One of them is in serious condition after he suffered head, chest, and arm injuries, and the other got hurt after trying to help his friend and colleague.

The two men were swimming in crocodile waters in the village of Portland Roads about 17 Friday, when the attack occurred, a local official said.

“One was attacked and the other tried to help. They've been found and in good hands. I'm hoping they're all right”, the official said.

One who is in his 20s was bitten on his head and body, and is in serious but stable condition. The other, in his 30 ' s, suffered injuries on his hands, reportedly cutting the crocodile with a knife.

Australia's Defense Forces confirmed that the two men involved are Australian soldiers. “They will continue to accept medical care from local and regional hospitals”, a military spokesman said.
