The deputy head of the Novoberda municipality Bajrush Ymeri has spoken of the situation in the recent parliamentary elections, where he said even in this municipality they could not resist a situation that has been in all of Kosovo, where Vetevendosje came first.
But, according to Ymer, it was an interesting situation where out of the 1,000-40 votes of Vetevendosje Movement in this municipality, its candidate, who was also the head of the branch there, has received about 430-40 votes, while Vjosa Osmani has received 640 votes where LDK voters have voted Osman who was also the owner of the list.
“We believe that these votes will return to the LDK because the figures in local and parliamentary elections change, we have had even earlier such cases when we received fewer votes in parliamentary elections, but more in local elections”, Ymer is expressed at “Special Endition” in Klan Kosova.
On the other hand, he says he does not support the idea of equalising political parties on the basis of ethnicity, since even Serbian citizens living in this municipality are citizens of Kosovo.
The “did not support the idea of equalifying political parties on ethnic grounds because the citizens of the Serb community living there are our citizens and living for centuries as we who live there and have the right to vote also.
“They are numerically more than we are and the possibility of victory is easier. What it is holding us back is that in this case voters who are coming from Serbia are imposing a local government and returning from where they came from”, Ymer has indicated.
