She said in a Twitter post that we should focus on saving lives in Afghanistan.
While the US is working to evacuate those in particular danger from Taliban, I am grateful to Albania, Canada, Kosovo and North Macedonia for providing housing to Afghan allies, women and civil society leaders. I hope and I expect others to follow”, Albright wrote.
By contrast, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, but also the Government of Kosovo and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, today confirmed that two days ago the Reuters agency reported that the US government has held talks with Kosovo and Albania to temporarily accommodate Afghans who worked with American forces in Afghanistan.
In Afghanistan, Taliban militants are rapidly taking over from government forces, as international forces led by the United States have begun to withdraw.

The U.S. State Department has announced a new programme that enables thousands of Afghans the opportunity to move into the United States as refugees.
Thousands of Afghans who will be part of this programme must be transported to a third country, and wait for 12 to 14 months until the entire app is tested.
