But its citizens still cannot move without visas to EU countries.
Germany, which held the presidency during the July-30th months of 2020, continues to support the liberalisation process based on met criteria.
The German State Government's Information Office told Clankosova.tv that Germany had put this topic on the agenda of responsible bodies of the European Union, but that most member states had not been reached to remove Kosovo visas.
The Federal Government continues to support visa liberalisation for Kosovo on the basis of meeting the established criteria. The decision on this must be made by the European Union Council. Germany put the topic on the agenda of responsible EU organs during its EU Council presidency. So far, the required majority among EU member states has not been reached”.
The departure from this office was said that the Federal government strongly supports Kosovo-Serbia negotiations.
According to them, the final result of negotiations led by European Union Special Envoy Miroslav Lajcak, and supervised by EU Chief of Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell, should be a comprehensive and legally binding agreement for both sides.
The German executive's Information Office told Clankosova.tv that this agreement is one of the preconditions for Serbia's EU accession.
The Federal government strongly supports negotiations under the supervision of Borrell and EU Special Representative Lajcak. The goal is a comprehensive, legally binding agreement for the full normalisation of relations between Serbia and Kosovo. As defined in the EU negotiating framework, such an agreement is also one of the preconditions for Serbia's EU accession”.
