Blinken spoke to reporters in Brussels together with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg before the two talked about launching NATO ministerial meetings this day, writes the Voice of America, translates Periscopi.
Stoltenberg said he welcomed the American administration's new approach, saying that “had a unique opportunity to launch a new chapter in trans-Atlantic relations. ”
One of the biggest topics to be discussed during two-day meetings in Brussels is the mission NATO in Afghanistan has been concluding the [May 1st] deadline of withdrawing all American troops under the peaceful agreement signed last year.
Blinken said the situation was under consideration.
He said that whatever the US did, its actions would be consultations of other member states that were part of the military mission.
