Kosovo Hospital and University Clinic General Director Valbon Krasniqi has said the situation with COVID-19 is getting worse in recent days, while he does not deny the possibility of Kosovo being on the verge of a new wave of corruption.
During these days we have had increased trends in cases of infected people and increased hospital treatment cases. During January and February, we have had a quiet situation, but now, especially this week, we have entered the stage with increasing trends of infected”, he said.
Krasniqi said that compared to the two previous months when the number of hospitalised by COVID-19 was about 460, now says it has gone to 573 in much less days. It adds that this is a 15 percent increase in hospitals.
That is exactly what Krasniqi says, are indicators that Kosovo can experience a new wave.
He blames not only the election campaign with party gatherings for the increasing number of cases, but says there are other reasons.
“Collections during the campaign are known as super distributors of the virus and have their own role, but other activities also have an impact. Apparently a loss of individual and collective concentration of pandemic has begun. We can't be distracted. Any disrespect of the measures goes with the largest distribution of the” virus, he said in Ktv.
Krasniqi said measures in place should be respected.
We're in a new situation when we're on the verge of another possible wave. Citizens have the right to be disappointed at the party's behaviour during the campaign, but we dare not allow for various reasons to endanger our health. We must respect the measures, certainly we have asked him to respect citizens and institutions to increase activities for monitoring the” measures, Krasniqi said.
“The situation is getting worse, we have an increase in the number of cases that are demanding hospital treatment”, he said.
