Former French President Sarcozy is sentenced to three years in prison for corruption

The former president is said to have forged “a corruption pact” with his lawyer and a senior magistrate.

The judges said there were “serious evidence” of co-operation between these three to break the law. The court heard how Sarcozy had told his lawyer, Thierry Herzog, to offer the magistrate a comfortable job at Cote d'Azur in exchange for information in an investigation involving a rightist politician, reports The Guardian, sent Periscope.

It seems impossible for the former president to spend a day in jail. The remaining one - year sentence of three can be served under certain conditions, including the establishment of an electronic necklace.
