With three vaccines now available, Biden said he was convinced there would be enough vaccines available for any adults in the United States by the end of May.
The Democrat president said he was optimistic about achieving his goal of distributing 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines in his first 100 days in office, but urged Americans to remain vigilant in wearing masks and respecting social distance.
Biden's attempt to vaccinate educators more quickly comes in the midst of a political controversy he has put in front of parents who demand that the school reopen against teachers' unions that helped put him in the White House and say the risks are still too big.
Randi Wiingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, said Beden's announcement was “excellent news for all those who want to learn at school”.
