Over 500kg of marijuana caught in northern Macedonia, coming from Kosovo

The country's Interior Ministry spokesman, Tony Agelovski, said in a written statement Sunday that 424kg of marijuana packed in 519 plastic bags were found hidden in a garbage truck Saturday evening at a border point with Greece, the AP reports.
Drugs, originally from Kosovo, would be transported through northern Macedonia and Greece to the black market in Turkey.
Police said a 47-year-old man, identified only by his initials as D.N., was arrested under suspicion of illegal drug smuggling.
In a separate operation near the southern border city of Gevgelija, police and border patrol detained a car during a routine search and found 93kg of marijuana. Two men tried to escape but were arrested.
