MP Shaip Kamberi has given a speech in the Parliament of Serbia, where he has said the Court of this state has legalised the offensive term “sidari” in this act.
“Today is a special day. It is the first day since a court of this state has legalized the offensive term “hiptar”. The Supreme Court in Belgrade has refused to convict Minister Alexander Voulin of discrimination, insults and hate speech against Albanians. The Supreme Court no longer applies to the Court of Appeals at the end of 2018, which had sanctioned the use of the term “ ““shitar” as hate language. Neither is the Commission's opinion of the Protection of Equality, Brnakica Jankovic, who has named the use of the term “>hiptar” as derogatory, insulting, and violation of the Law for Prevention of Discrimination”, he said.
