Police reported that Jennifer and James Crumble were arrested early Saturday morning in Detroit.
The prosecution had pressed charges of unlawful murder against 15-year-old parents over the event at school. But they did not appear in court Friday, causing police to issue an arrest warrant, raising to them four counts of senseless murder, ignoring warning signs about the school event, as well as the approach they had provided their son to the weapon he allegedly carried out the killings.
The Associated Press agency reported that the couple's lawyer, Shannon Smith, has told authorities that they had left town early in the week, for security reasons.
Authorities had placed a reward of $10,000 for anyone providing information on their whereabouts.
Pair Crumble's son, 15-year-old Ethan Crumble, is suspected of having opened fire at Oxford High School in the city of the same name in Michigan state, killing four students and injuring seven other people.
Prosecutors said Ethan Crumble had shown some warning signs, writes vocals. He had drawn a blood and pistol, also writing blood everywhere and thought is not stopping me, help me.
Prosecutors also said a teacher had seen his teenager look online for ammunition, on his phone, and that he had notified the school's executive staff.
The adolescent's parents, James and Jennifer Crumble, were called to school hours before the gun attack, but the authorities said they had refused to take him home.
