Federation of Kosovo Health Unions Chairman Blerim Syla has reacted after statements by Prime Minister Albin Kurti that it is good to have changes at the helm of union organisations, just as changes in politics have occurred.
Syla at Kanal 10, said such a road leads the country towards dictatorship and jeopardises democracy in Kosovo.
“We are dealing with a direct mix of government and the risk of democracy. I'm afraid such a path leads to dictatorship and it's a tendency to catch unions”, Syla said, adding that for changes in union leadership the workers decide.
According to him, trade unions are seeking the adoption of the salary Law and increased health workers' welfare.
“It's very strange, trade unions are begging for the prime minister's law asking for anarchy”, Syla said.
Otherwise, Kurti at a media conference yesterday, questioned about the strikes being held by the Health Union and some other labour unions, has said that “uron has changes everywhere, as changes are being made in politics”.
I believe there must be changes in every realm of social, professional life, because I am convinced that even health workers, but even citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, are not enough to continue to represent the same people for many years, whoever they are, or wherever they are”, Kurti said.
