Special Prosecutor Raises Charge for Parting in a Terrorist Group

In a communiqué issued on December 3rd, this prosecutor has said the defendant has deliberately joined the terrorist organisation “Gjabat Al oustra” in Syria.
According to the prosecution, the defendant has participated in the Syria wars, and in 2013 has returned to Kosovo.
He is said to have later returned to Syria with his family.
In July 2021, it was repatriated to Kosovo.
Since the outbreak of conflict in Syria and Iraq in 2011, about 400 Kosovars have travelled to these countries.
Some of them were killed or remained in war zones even after the Islamic State was declared defeated in those territories in 2019, while others were repatriated to Kosovo.
