Speaking on this issue, he said Kosovo is demanding that Kazakh recognise its independence.
“We did not recognise the Crime as part of Russia, because then we should have known North Ossetia, Abkhazia and Kosovo. Even Kosovo is asking for recognition”, Nazarbayev said in an interview.
But we didn't even support Ukraine”, he added.
Moscow invaded Crime from Ukraine in 2014 and has since supported separatists fighting in Kiev in the east. More than 13,000 people died in the conflict.
