Omitron comes to Kosovo, I KSHPK confirms the first nine cases

Kosovo's National Institute of Public Health has announced that, today, on December 26, 2021, in the molecular microbiology laboratory, the IKKPK Microbiology Department, 22 positive samples at SARS-CoV-2, of December 15-25, 2021.

Of these samples, nine (9) have resulted positive in the presence of the Omitron version (B.1.1.529). From epidemiological research, it has resulted from these cases:

2 cases are imported from the United States,

Two cases are imported from London, United Kingdom,

·1 case is imported from France; and

R/4 cases of the Omitron version detected are in the Mitrovica municipality, which denies travel history and that they had contact with someone from outside.

Testing was conducted with RT The PCR and the extra set accepted through the WTO.

After presenting the Omitron variant (B.1.1.529) in the world, Europe, the region already in Kosovo, is projected to exacerbate the epidemiological situation. This version, based on world data, has even faster distribution than the Delta Plus variant.

MKS and ICHPK call on citizens to implement measures in force precisely and to vaccinate and encourage others to vaccinate. Kosovo is provided with vaccines approved for use by the world's most relevant troops. The vaccine can occur whenever, without the term, regardless of residence and citizenship.
