The ombudsman claims social services have been limited and associated with numerous difficulties. The situation has also deteriorated the late announcement of regular grants that support social service providers.
He added that during the time of restrictive measures, the number of domestic violence has significantly increased. According to the findings of the report, 1915 cases were recorded in 2019, while 2069 cases of domestic violence were presented to police in 2020.
On the other hand, the ombudsman has found that the pandemic has also contributed to the deterioration of economic status, further deepening the gap in social inequality among families. The economic situation of families is reported to have been further at risk of increasing poverty.
The report issues 22 recommendations addressed to public authorities in order to respect human rights standards in the future in any restrictive measure that could be placed in emergency situations.
