Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has confirmed during the day that he will not allow Serbia's referendum on Kosovo territory to be held.
This has prompted Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq to react, saying that “this issue will address the international community, primarily the EU and the US, and all who support Kosovo's independence, in terms of Pristina's refusal to allow Serbs from Kosovo to participate in the upcoming constitutional change referendum”.
Responding to the question of whether you expect any constructiveity from Kurti, who, although more and more, received messages from internationals that dialogue is the only solution, said Serbia must change more and that from whom it depends, the EU or anyone else, reminded that it does not depend on Kurt and that this statement does not want to comment on it, reports B92.
Vuciq said they would ask the international community, the EU, the US and all those who more or less support Kosovo's independence, whether they would react in the same way if Serbs did not participate in their elections or will not have elections in northern Kosovo.
Whatever they're gonna do, they're gonna take the tanks to the polling stations, or because they don't, with armoured vehicles, I don't know what they want to cause tensions. Our job is to be with our people, maintain peace, and respect our Constitution”, Vuciq said.
For me, it's devastating that they don't allow Veljko Odalovich, Petra Petkov to enter Kosovo because they're acting like someone who wants to cause the incident. They said they would not allow referendum to be held in the Serb communities in Kosovo”, he has explained.
Otherwise, Serbia will hold the referendum for constitutional changes on 16 January 2022.
