Kosovo's Special Prosecutor has received files from the office for verifying Kosovo Liberation Army war veterans (UÇK), for investigating the case known as “Vjetrans”, this is because he was suspected of increasing the number of those who were part of the war.
But that fact is bringing problems to veterans and their family, said KLA OVL Chairman Faton Klinka's taskman. According to him, although the Bureau for verification owns the electronic data system, the latter are arguing about some technical problems.
By law have institutions or offices for verification brought us those final lists, those lists never brought us. We as the War Veterans Organization know that even the prosecution we invited and gave him a few lists we had after the war that were like finished lists and how the procedure we started with the prosecutor”.
The procedure has put the subject on trial, it's continuing. The commission once declared him innocent, but it is their complaint and the trial process will continue. One big disaster is that the prosecution thought it was a violation of the law that took all the files in the Bureau for verification, and there it has not left at least any copies, and in this direction they are facing war veterans or family members to get confirmations from that office. Although they have the system in that office, they reason on some technical issues that they have”.
Klink further says that the exact number of war veterans does not know. Even according to him, even though there have been constantly charges of increasing the number of war veterans, this has been done for political consumption.
The “cannot affect them as long as the property is in court, and when this government or the institutions want to establish another commission is their own issue here as well, in this direction the pension department should not have asked the deceased veteran's wife for no proof because the man in the department himself enjoyed retirement”, he added. /EO
