Through a media communique, KEDS say the whole situation is a result of the global crisis, while underlining that they have so far invested nearly 200m euros in the network and add that planned reductions “have been removed. ABC”

Among other things, in the KED communiqués, says they respect protest and co-operation with each.

Read the full reaction:

The energy sector in Kosovo is going through one of the biggest challenges since the end of the war, and we, as one of the acters in this sector, are co-operating with each of you.

We also understand the protests held in front of our building. It is their right, and we respect it.

This year we are facing a global crisis of price hikes, energy consumption increases and production reductions. These factors affect the entire electromagnetic system, which is part of which consumers are as well.

We as companies are concerned about this. We have even carried the crisis on our shoulders for several months without the consumer being infected until we exhausted all our resources.

As a company, we're in our 9th year of operation. Since the beginning of our operations, we have removed the reduction plan known as Categorisation “ABC”

Just remember what the power supply was like last year, compared to this year! ? This is the best example of privatisation, and we as a company are proud of what we have accomplished.

We have invested nearly 200m euros in the system, and our overall operation today is much more efficient. These investments have significantly increased the quality of services for citizens and businesses throughout Kosovo.

When we remember the situation we inherited and after all projects realised so far, then the privatisation of KED, sʹka is what is otherwise called a success story.

Even these days, we have done everything possible to make it as easy as possible. We have made recommendations and remain willing to play our role in these circumstances. But, KEDS and KESCO are only one of the performers in the energy sector.

We want to assure all other relief agents that we are ready for co-operation, just as we have been since September, when we began offering recommendations to authorities on how to manage this crisis more effectively.

It is time for us to focus all our energy on overcoming this situation, on concrete acts, not on attacks that violate the credibility of the company abroad and within the country and deny the company's achievements over the years.
