The report, which in its majority commends Kosovo in preventing violent extremism and fighting terrorism, has questioned long-term security in the country.
According to the report, short sentences, early prison release and lack of organised supervision following the release of suspects for carrying out or supporting terrorist activities raise long-term security questions.
Kosovo's “legislative framework is among the most prone in the Balkans to prosecuting individuals suspected of carrying out or supporting terrorist activities, but short sentences, early release from prison and lack of organised supervision after release raise long-term security questions”, the UN report said.
The report also mentions that Kosovo has named Hizbo God a terrorist organisation.
