The EU silenced Volin: The atrocities in Recak are well documented, cannot be denied

European Union High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security spokesman Peter Stano said Recak's massacre cannot be denied, nor should what happened in this Kosovo village be modified in 1999. He made these comments after Serbia's Interior Minister Allexandar vullin [...]
Those comments he made after Serbia's Interior Minister Allexander Vullin called “a big lie and a terrible falsification” the murder of Albanian civilians in Recak.
Whatever happened in Recak, Kosovo, and the atrocities committed there in January 1999 are well documented”, Stano told Radio Free Europe.
On Friday, December 10th, Serbia's Minister of Internal Affairs, Allexander Voulin, visited the team of a film project working on the realisation of a series of documentaries, which, according to authors, aims to document the truth of this event that officials deny in Serbia.
“Agrition of NATO began after a terrible lie about Recak. At that time, we were neither capable nor smart to tell the whole world what a terrible lie it was” was quoted as saying Voul during the visit.
Commenting on the position of officials in Serbia, EU spokesman Peter Stano said the denial or modification of the Recak Massacre, where 45 Albanian civilians were killed, is contrary to the European Union's values and the Western Balkans integration project.
The “E re-exert that there is no place to deny or underestimate what happened in Recak”, Stano said.
Stano added that the EU calls on authorities throughout the region to work for a genuine and true assessment of the past, as according to him, the region needs reconciliation, stability and normalisation of relations.
On January 15th 1999, Serbian police and military forces in Kosovo killed 45 Albanian civilians in the village of Recak in the Shtime municipality.
The crimes committed in this village were then documented by the head of the Organization for Security and Co-operation's observer mission in Europe, William Walker.
Recak's event was followed by NATO bombings on Serbian targets in Kosovo as well as in Serbia.
Voulin has repeatedly denied Recak's Massacre in the past, calling this massacre a fabricated “crime”.
