Escobar will meet with Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, with Foreign Minister Olta Janka and Prime Minister of Democratic First (PD) Lulzim Basha, as well as other leaders, where they say from the American Embassy in Tirana, this to reconfirm the US's firm support for Albania's democracy.
On December 9th, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs and Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar will pay his first visit to Albania, with the goal of deepening our close friendship based on common democratic values. Escobar will meet with Prime Minister Rama, Foreign Minister Jakka, Democratic Party Chairman Basha and other leaders to reconfirm the United States' steadfast support for Albania's democracy, EU integration, stronger co-operation in defence and opportunities for trade and investment. As stated in President Biden's Executive Orders, Escobar will also discuss the United States' commitment to fighting corruption, impunity and efforts to undermine democracy in the Western Balkans”, the US Embassy's announcement in Tirana said.
