Erdogan: Turkey soon to become one of world's top 10 economies

At an extended meeting of the heads of provincial states of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Istanbul, Erdogan talked about economic developments in Turkey, as well as increasing inflation and reiterated that the main causes of high inflation are high interest rates.

With our new economic programme, we are moving rapidly towards the goal of putting Turkey among the top 10 economies. Interest rates make the rich richer and the poor poorer. We will break this cycle and let our people achieve the main goal,” said Erdogan.

He stressed that Turkey has been stable in all global economic crises thanks to the infrastructure offered by the ruling party during previous years of governance.

Erdogan also referred to the AK Party's intentions for 2023, the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey and the vision for the decades to come.
