Bieber: New German government must convince sceptical countries to liberalise Kosovo visas

As indicated in the column, “for a long time, in Berlin and Brussels continued the illusion that Vuciqi was the ideal partner for a compromise with Kosovo. But there was no solution after ten years under EU mediation”.
Bieber added that Vuciqi can live well enough with the status quo and that it is naive to believe that “an autism like him” will eventually accept a compromise with Kosovo.
Germany, according to him, should also convince sceptical states of visa liberalisation for Kosovo. There are partners in the EU and also in the US for tracking this line, but progress will not succeed without Germany's active participation.
The first option for the new federal government to put into practice its commitment to democracy and rule of law will be in the Western Balkans”, he estimates further.
