The Santander bank had wrongly deposited 130 million pounds in 75 thousand bank accounts on December 25th.
The bank staff is now in a hurry to return the money, even though many of them had already been deposited in the accounts of rival banks.
The mistake occurred when payments from 2,000 business accounts were made twice, reports the BBC, translates Periscope.
On average, each of the citizens received 1733 euros and 33 cents on Christmas Day.
