In a media communiqué, the prime minister's office has said that US support for Kosovo and multilateral partnership between the two countries were highly praised at the meeting, reports news.net.
The continued support from the United States and the multi-pronged partnership was praised by the prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, at the meeting with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Molly Montgomery”, said in the communiqué.
The government also said Montgomery emphasised relations between the United States and Kosovo, and particularly the strong personal link that President Biden has with Kosovo.
On behalf of the United States of America, she thanked Prime Minister Kurti and the Government of Kosovo for co-operation and support on the issue of housing of Afghan citizens.
Prime Minister Kurti said this assistance was our humanitarian duty and that we want to stand by the United States, our strategic ally.
He thanked him for the support provided for the Kosovo Security Force for equipment and training, as well as expressed the will for further co-operation. He also announced the budget of the Republic of Kosovo for 2022, including the allocation of more than 100m euros to the army”, the report said.
“Prime Minister Kurti expressed gratitude for the assessment of President Beden, that the continuation of talks between Kosovo and Serbia and reaching an agreement should focus on mutual recognition”, he said.
Also discussed was the situation in managing COVID-19, managing the vaccine process and managing about 1.6 million doses.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked the United States for assisting in the process of providing vaccines against Coddy-19.
“Refocusing the steadfast alliance with the US, the prime minister expressed the Government's commitment to expanding co-operation further in the field of education, agriculture and investment”, completed in the communiqué.
