European Union countries reportedly have issued 31 thousand and 654 residence permits for citizens from Kosovo in total.
It is noteworthy that the first ranks Germany with 15 thousand and 895 residence permits, behind it is Croatia with 4 thousand and 488, the third on the list is Slovenia with 3 thousand and 904, the fourth ranking France with a thousand and 577, and the last is Italy with a thousand and 388.
Referenced to Eurostat data in 2020, Poland issued 598,000 out of 2.2 million residence permits for the first time given to non-citizens in the EU EU (26%). Poland was succeeded by Germany (313,000, or 14%) and Spain (312,000, or 14%).
Meanwhile, according to the report, the number of irregular migrants in Albania marked 13 percent increase in 2020, compared with 2019 figures.
In addition to information campaigns, deep border controls, awareness of rights and obligations under visa-free regimes, identification and addressing fundamental reasons, dialogue and co-operation with the most affected countries have continued.
While the commission is monitoring the trend in the framework of the monitoring mechanism after visa liberalisation.
