US Kosovo Ignoring, Multiple Criticism for Kurtin Osman

American President “Politico” published yesterday the list of states invited by the White House for the Democracy Summit, to be held in December of this year. On this list, they figure 100 states, but not even Kosovo, Serbia and Bosnia. Kosovo's ban on this summit has sparked numerous reactions. First that [...]

The first to have reacted to the issue has been political affairs analyst and civil society activist Agon Maliqi.

Maliqi has said this is a bad signal to the level of relations, and this should be read as an alarm bells.

Better free people. This is according to a report by Polytico map of countries in Europe to which the US has submitted an invitation for participation at the Democracy Summit in December. Kosovo's non-involvedness is a very bad signal for the level of relations and should be read as alarm bell”, Maliqi wrote.

Kosovo's ban on this summit has also sparked former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's reaction.

According to Haradinaj, Prime Minister Albin Kurti “with urgency must repair reliable and sound reports and partnerships with the United States as our strategic ally”.

AAKA chief says relations between Xova and the United States were degraded in the rule of Albin Kurti. Thus, according to him, Kurti must be “as soon as it is free from policies and actions on account of narrow interests”.

Kosovo has no time to lose, nor has any closer partners than the United States, so the prime minister urgently must repair reliable and sound reports and partnerships with the United States as our strategic ally”, Haradinaj says.

Haradinaj has stressed that it should not be allowed “beheja” of the US presence in Kosovo”.

“We will never allow the transformation of Kosovo into the lab of European neo-communist experiments that the headquartered of Moscow and the primary goal has to fade the presence and role of the United States in Kosovo, the region of the wider”, it has written in its Facebook account.

Even former Democratic League of Kosovo leader Isa Mustafa spoke after Kosovo was not invited to the US President Joe Biden's Democracy Summit, saying President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti were not invited to Washington, but were not allowed to see even on laptop screens.

Mustafa in an answer to Gazeta Express has said that Kosovo does not deserve to be run by those who discomunied by the US.

He said that leaving Kosovo out of US orbit at the Democracy Summit is serious, and especially, when our country enters a isolation facility together with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.

Not that they haven't been invited to Washington Mrs. Osman and Mr. Kurti, but not even at a virtual meeting, has been given an opportunity to see in the 100 countries' circle invited by President Biden, or even on laptop screens. Kosovo should not be indifferent to this situation, much less the current leaders”, Mustafa said.

Mustafa even demanded that Kurti's Osmani show citizens why Kosovo is left out of this summit.

Kosovo does not deserve to be run by those who are commanded by the United States, which over 30 years remain to be the main ally of our country's independence and over 100-year ally of Albanians. They have to tell the citizens of Kosovo why they're left out, why they're being accepted by the American administration, because it's not about discomunication of leaders, but of Kosovo as state”.

Former Kosovo chief negotiator in the technical dialogue with Serbia, Edita Tahiri, believes that since our country was not invited to the US President Joe Biden Democracy Summit, Prime Minister Albin Kurti will now better discern the colors of the White House.

Tahiri made that statement through a Facebook post.

The White House did not invite Kosovo to the Democracy Summit organised by American President Joe Biden. After that, I believe Kurt will better tell the colors.

Even Kosovo analyst and connoisseur of developments that connect with diplomacy and foreign policy, Ilir Ibrahimi, has reacted after the United States has not invited Kosovo to the 2021 Democracy Summit.

Ibrahim says that small disagreements have been heard so far, but he says the sample is already a libertium.

So far we have heard or seen lower- voice disagreement by the Biden administration towards the Kosovo Government approach. Kosovo's sideline, as one of the 4-5 European countries that are not invited to the 2021 Democracy Summit, is BURTIME”, Ibrahim wrote.

He further says President Osmani has been visiting the US twice and has not met any administration officials. It also mentions Kurt's statement that he will visit the United States in November, yet specifys several sources that say he has cancelled since he has managed to secure any meeting with the Biden administration.

The president, within a few weeks, was twice in the United States and did not meet any administration officials. The prime minister, who had declared he will visit the US in November, cancelled the visit due to some sources, failed to secure any meeting with the administration.

The Kosovo government urgently needs to switch courses and return to the already injured construction of relations with the main ally. No one can give myself the luxury of putting the country's strategic interests” into a questionable belief.

After all these reactions, the American Embassy in Pristina has come up with a clarification.

A spokesman for the American Embassy in Pristina in a clarification sent to the Gazeta Express address has stated that President Joe Biden's Democracy Summit is the initiative, however, that can accommodate all partners because the goal has been to include the diverse democracies of population size. Kosovo is not invited to attend this summit, which will be held virtually on 9 December and 10 December.

The president for Democracy's <x0mbom is one of many US initiatives focused on advancing democracy, fighting corruption and promoting respect for human rights around the globe. Not all partners can be accommodated in this initiative. The goal has been to bring together a regional and socioeconomic group of countries and jurisdictions, which includes well-founded democracies, as well as democracies in the population size, demographic and location”, the embassy spokesman has said.

On the other hand, this spokesman has said that President Biden has stated that Kosovo has made remarkable progress over two decades.

“Sic emphasised President Biden in his video address in August, Kosovo has made “extraordinary progress over 20 years” by building a regenerative and multiethnic democracy”, he has said.

Also in the US Embassy spokesman's statement, the US as a steadfast partner of Kosovo reportedly remains committed to working with Kosovo.

“As Kosovo's staunch partner, the United States remains committed to working with Kosovo at other forums for advancing and empowering democracy, preventing democratic regrats, promoting respect for human rights and fighting corruption so that we can together prove that democracies meet the needs of their own”, he has said.

Otherwise, American President Joe Biden will organize a “Sam for Democracy” on December 9th and 10th, in which heads of state, representatives of civil society, private sector and philanthropists will be invited to attend, the White House announced on Wednesday.

The summit is scheduled to be held online.

“The summit will promote commitments and initiatives on three main topics: promoting human rights, protecting authoritarianism and fighting corruption”, the White House statement said.

President Biden plans that a year after this summit also organise a meeting with physical presence so that commitments are discussed.

The White House announcement does not provide details about the list of guests at the summit, which is viewed as a G20 alternative and a challenge to China.

The G20 group consists of the most powerful economic countries in the world, including authoritarian regimes such as China and Saudi Arabia.

The G20 representatives will meet in Italy at the end of October.

Beden has said that the “sfide of our time is to prove that democracies can deal with improving people's lives by addressing the biggest problems facing the world.

The White House said the summit is “an opportunity for world leaders to talk about the challenges facing democracy, to listen to each other and their citizens, as well as to promote international co-operation”./
