KMDLNj called the case pure racism.
And so, KMDLNj has invited police to start investigating the case and, if evidence is provided, to take legal measures against those who have refused to serve communities.
“Refuse the service of members of local communities, pure racism! According to a tip posted by Minister Engelbert Krasniqi, some gastronomic locals in Gjakova have refused to serve members of communities and, therefore, Minister Krasniqi has proposed that these locals be boycotted by other citizens. KMDLNj has no verified information supporting this statement by Minister Krasniqi therefore calls the Kosovo Police that, based on the public declaration of a high institutional official, initiates investigations after which, if evidence is provided, legal measures would be taken against those who, refusing to serve members of communities, do violation of the guaranteed human rights with the Constitution of Kosovo”, it is said in response.
KMDLNj says that if the minister's claims are confirmed by the police, these cases could be considered racial discrimination.
If minister Krasniqi's public statements are confirmed by Kosovo Police then these cases can be described as pure racism or racial discrimination. Fortunately, in Kosovo, despite many difficulties and problems, mainly because of the serious economic situation, the members of communities, especially the Roma community, Egypt and Ashkalin, have remained without needed education, so even the unemployment rate in these communities is the highest in Kosovo, but there has been no discrimination on racial grounds. Even access to public services has been more difficult”, it says in response.
Otherwise, Local Power Management Minister Elbert Krasniqi wrote on Facebook Sunday that a bar in Gjakova did not serve members of communities.
