The incident took place at Oxford High School, about 50 miles [55 km] north of Detroit, shortly after noon at local time. Order forces and emergency personnel immediately went to the scene, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.
“We have a suspect in custody for fire openings and we have found a weapon. We don't believe there's anyone else at this moment”, the sheriff's office said through a statement.
Deputy Sheriff Michael McCabe told reporters at the scene that the suspect was a 15-year-old school student who used a semi-automatic pistol. Among the wounded was a great teacher, he said.
I can tell you he hit with several shots,” said McCabe.
He added that rule personnel were still doing school control, which was placed in isolation when the shooting began.
