EU tells EU to liberalise Kosovo citizens

EU special envoy for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia Miroslav Lajcak has been part of the Thessaloniki Summit, where he has said it is important for the EU to lift visas for Kosovo citizens and stressed the need to launch talks between the EU and Albania and Northern Macedonia.

For me, the question is not whether it should be, but when and as a first step, it will recommend starting negotiations without delay with Albania and Northern Macedonia and abolishing visas for Kosovo citizens”, Lajcak has said.

Among other things, he has commented on the recent political situation in northern Macedonia, where it indicated that the resignation of Prime Minister Zaev is because the EU failed to fulfil the promise, while the European Union, according to him, lost one of the best partners in the region”, reports ABC news, broadcast Klanoskova.

“Prime Minister Zaev lost the elections because he has failed to fulfil his promise to start talks with the European Union, while his promise failed to fulfill not because he had not accomplished his part, but because we, the European Union, have not been able to fulfill our part. As a result, they lost a partner who was loyal to the European, constructive and dedicated ideas, one of the best partners in the region. For me it is clear that the region has no time to wait for them and it is time for the European Union to act because more European partners will be lost”, Lajcak has indicated, among other things.
