A US Appeals Court temporarily rejected the request of a committee investigating the January 6th riots in Congress to have access to former President Donald Trump's White House data.
The ruling follows two days after a federal judge ordered the documents to be handed over to the investigative Committee.
The committee, composed of House of Representatives lawmakers, is trying to find out whether Trump had a preliminary knowledge of the riots.
On January 6th, Trump supporters had attacked the convention building until lawmakers were gathering to confirm the outcome of the presidential election.
Trump has refused to concede defeat in the face of President Joe Biden in last year's elections, claiming without evidence there has been massive fraud at the polls.
The investigations are being made by a committee set up by the House of Representatives, which is dominated by President Biden's Democrats.
The panel wants to see phone records, visitors' records and other White House documents, which could shed light on the events of January 6th.
But the Washington Court of Appeals imposed temporary detentions on the order of a lower court for the delivery of documents Friday.
The Appeals Court said it will set up a session for November 30th.
